Arcadis Digital Twins

The platform behind Arcadis digital solutions — connecting any data source into a live model of your assets, processes and systems, built and operated by our engineers.

See what is happening. Decide what to do.

Arcadis Digital Twins gives you a live picture of your assets, processes and systems — what state they are in right now, how they are trending, and what needs attention first. Not a monthly report on what happened, but the current answer, whenever you ask for it.

It gets there by bringing everything into one validated model: sensors and control systems, engineering and BIM models, laboratory results, field observations, geospatial and climate data, public feeds and your own enterprise systems. Data that normally sits in a dozen places becomes one view you can query, map, chart, alert on and act on.

Every solution is shaped around a specific decision, which is why each carries its own name — Climate Risk Nexus, Nexus Live, JetConnect, the Endpoint Acceptance Tool, Intelligent Mobility Insights — while sharing the same platform underneath.

What the platform does

Seven capabilities that determine what we can build for you.

Data integration

Connect any data source

Our engineers build integrations in a visual low-code flow editor, so getting your data in takes days rather than a project of its own.

  • Triggers on a schedule, an incoming webhook, an IoT or MQTT message, a change in the twin graph, a submitted field form, or on demand
  • Reads from HTTP and REST APIs, SFTP, blob and file storage, SQL, Azure Data Explorer, Microsoft Fabric and OneLake, Autodesk Construction Cloud, field data apps, and Event Hub or Kafka streams
  • Maps, filters, splits, joins and transforms payloads with expressions — no code to deploy, no build step
  • Writes to the twin graph, the time-series store, SQL, event streams, files or downstream APIs
  • Durable execution with full run history, logs, retries and reusable child flows

How we work

The platform is delivered with our engineers — usually alongside the engineering, environmental or advisory work it supports — so you get a working solution rather than a toolkit to staff and learn.

That is where the value sits. Knowing which physics, which failure modes and which decisions matter is what turns data into a solution, and the people configuring your environment are the same people who understand your assets.

  1. Start from the decision

Not from the data. We work out what someone needs to decide, how often, and what would change if they had better information. That defines the scope; everything else follows from it.

  2. Model and connect

Our engineers set up the environment, choose or extend the data models, and build the flows that bring your sources in — sensors, engineering models, lab results, field apps, public feeds, enterprise systems.

  3. Configure the solution

Dashboards, maps, 3D views, forms, alarms and automated reports are configured rather than coded, with AI copilots accelerating the build. First working version in weeks, then refined against real use.

  4. Operate and evolve

We run and support the environment, add sources and views as the work changes, and keep the analytics honest as the asset ages. Most environments stay live for years.

Frequently asked questions

The questions we get most often, from clients and from Arcadis colleagues. If yours is not here, ask us below.

What do we get access to, and who operates it?

Your teams get full access to the solution — every dashboard, the underlying data, exports, and a REST API to pull it into your own systems — with as many users as you need. Our engineers build and operate the environment, keep the integrations running and add views as your needs change. Where your own teams want to take on more of the configuration over time, we set that up with you.

Which data sources can you integrate?

In practice, anything that is reachable. Our engineers build integrations in a low-code flow editor covering HTTP and REST APIs, SFTP, blob and file storage, SQL databases, Azure Data Explorer, Microsoft Fabric and OneLake, Autodesk Construction Cloud, field data collection apps, IoT and MQTT devices, and Event Hub or Kafka streams. If a source is unusual, ask — new connectors are a normal part of delivery, not an exception.

How does the AI actually get used?

In three ways. An in-app assistant answers questions by querying your environment directly. AI agents run as steps inside automated workflows, classifying, scoring, validating or summarising data as it arrives. And AI copilots help our engineers build dashboards and data flows, which is a large part of why a first working version arrives in weeks.

Where does our data live, and who can see it?

Each solution runs in its own isolated environment with its own graph database, time-series database and storage, deployed in the region appropriate for your data. Access uses single sign-on against your identity provider, with role-based permissions down to individual views. Automated backups and data sensitivity labelling are configured per environment.

How long before we see something working?

For a well-scoped use case with reachable data sources, a first working version typically takes weeks rather than months, because dashboards, flows and models are configured rather than developed. Larger programmes are usually delivered in stages, starting with the decision that carries the most value.

Can it work with our existing BIM, GIS and asset management systems?

Yes — that is the normal case rather than a special one. Autodesk models load directly into the 3D viewer and link to twins. GIS layers load from files, tile services, ESRI feature services or OneLake. Asset registers, maintenance systems and historians are integrated through their APIs or databases, and the platform can push results back to them.

I work at Arcadis. How do I scope a solution for my client?

Get in touch using the form below and we will help you shape the use case, judge feasibility against the data that is actually available, and put an estimate together. It is usually quicker to describe the decision your client is trying to make than to describe the data you have.

Tell us what you need to decide.

Our team will show you the platform, walk through comparable solutions, and give you a straight answer on whether your data supports what you have in mind. Arcadis colleagues scoping a client solution are equally welcome.
